FOOTHILL AND SHOUT! FACTORY SEAL DEAL FOR MILTON THE MONSTER AND BATFINK
March, 2007 - Santa Barbara, CA: Santa Barbara based Foothill Entertainment, Inc. announces a far reaching multiplatform video license with retro pop culture entertainment company Shout! Factory. The deal brings TV classics produced by legendary Hal Seeger Productions, and Milton the Monster, out on video for the first time in the United States and Canada.
first aired in US syndication in September 1967. The 100 five-minute episode series is currently airing on Cartoon Network's Boomerang in the US, the BBC in the UK and in dozens of countries worldwide. A classic cartoon character, Batfink, together with his trustworthy assistant, Karate, a martial arts expert, continually battle to free the world from arch villains with supersonic sonar-radar and wings of steel; his villainous rivals include Hugo a Go Go, Gluey Louie and the Skinny Minnie Gang.
Milton the Monster debuted on ABC-TV in 1965 and was Seeger's first animated cartoon for network television. Equally a cult classic, Milton was the ingenious creation of Professor Weirdo and Count Kook. However, Milton was accidentally given too much tenderness and resulted in him being a loveable and caring monster, which certainly was not what the Professor and Count had intended! Milton is joined by other iconic TV characters such as Heebie and Jeebie, Fearless Fly, Flukey Luke and Stuffy Durma.
"We are thrilled to have the Shout! Factory as our video partner on these two classic series. They are truly the gold standard in marketing retro properties," stated Foothill President, Jo Kavanagh-Payne. "It is particularly exciting to have these wonderful properties from the late Hal Seeger available on DVD for the first time in the United States and Canada. We feel very honored to be able to represent them."
Garson Foos, President of Shout! Factory said, "We are delighted to add these two shows to Shout! Factory's extensive slate of classic TV shows. Having the opportunity to pay homage to an animation legend like Hal Seeger with collections of both and Milton the Monster is a real privilege for us."
