INDUSTRY VETERAN PATRICIA RYAN JOINS FOOTHILL INTERNATIONAL TEAM
(Cannes- 2006 April) Television sales veteran Patricia Ryan has joined Foothill Entertainment, Inc. to bolster Foothill's international sales efforts. Well known in the global television sales community, Ryan brings tremendous experience to the Foothill team. Prior to this, she was President of International Sales with independent animation giant DIC Entertainment Inc. Ryan began her career at Filmation Associates (a division of Group W/Westinghouse Broadcasting) where she spent 14 years and was Vice President of International Sales & Administration. "We have known Pat personally for many, many years and we are really delighted that she was available to help with our sales and marketing," said Foothill President Jo Kavanagh-Payne. "Pat is tremendously well liked and respected throughout the world so we feel very lucky that we were able to bring her into the growing Foothill family."
Having completed sales prior to MIPCOM 2005 of kids' animated movie, Toy Warrior, to Jetix in the US, Foothill acquired in rapid order rights to 26 x 25" animated series My Little Fox and teen/ young adult CGI feature Elysium, and the live action costume series Wish-a-Roo Park (13 x 25') that aired successfully on PBS. It was this trend toward completed shows that prompted Foothill to reach out to the industry vet. "I am so pleased to be able to work with Greg and Jo, whom I have known for more than a decade. Working with a small company where I know I can have a real and immediate impact is tremendously satisfying," says Ryan. "I am looking forward to helping grow their company."
Foothill Chairman Gregory Payne added, "Our completed programming catalogue has grown tremendously in the past 6 months and it was becoming increasingly difficult to cover the world ourselves as well as devote time to our development projects. With Pat's extensive contacts and experience, she can make a real impact on our business."
Although she worked with Foothill at MIPCOM '05, MIP-TV 2006 will be the first major international market planned and attended with Ryan on board.
Founded in September 2000 by former DIC Entertainment executive vice president of business and legal affairs, Gregory Payne and Jo Kavanagh-Payne, former Link Television Entertainment, Inc senior vice president of U.S. operations, Foothill specializes in the co-development and distribution of children's and family entertainment programming. Their company is based in Santa Barbara, California.
