ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT AND FOOTHILL ENTERTAINMENT, INC. INK DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR THE DRESS UP BOX

(Cannes – April 11) Anchor Bay Entertainment and Foothill Entertainment, Inc. announced today that Anchor Bay has acquired the exclusive North American home video rights to the live action kids’ series The Dress Up Box (52 x 5’). Produced by award-winning Papageno Films of New Zealand, this costume series is currently in its fourth season of production. The series is the past winner of the New Zealand Film and Television Award for Best Costumes and is a multiple winner of the Qantas Media Award for Best Children’s/ Youth Program. Set among the spectacular scenery of New Zealand, this musically based show features elaborate costumes and universal themes as kids’ act out their fantasies inspired by the costumes they put on. Unique in its approach to playtime, the series is intended to inspire children to use their imagination to transport themselves into the wonderful world of make-believe. Anchor Bay has also acquired rights to the soundtrack that accompanies the series.

Negotiated by Anchor Bay’s Vice President of Family Acquisitions, Alisha Serold, and Foothill’s President, Jo Kavanagh-Payne, the deal represents the first collaboration between the two companies. “We are hoping this initial deal is the first of many between Foothill and the IDT companies.” says Foothill’s Kavanagh-Payne. In acquiring the series, Serold commented “The Dress Up Box is an innovative and hugely entertaining series that should prove popular with both young girls and boys. It’s not like anything else out there in the marketplace.”
