Cannes - October 2008
Foothill Expands it's Focus at MIPCOM with New Offerings from Australia and Asia

(Cannes- 2008 October) Foothill Entertainment, Inc. will be returning to MIPCOM and MIPCOM Junior with a mission to solidify its new alliances with Asian companies, launch its branded slate of high-quality classic European animation titles and announce new creative ventures.

Hot on the heels of a successful trip to the Seoul Character Fair as an invited TOP Buyer, Foothill is bringing to Cannes new relationships forged in Korea, which have opened doors for the Company in the booming Asian market. Foothill looks to bring this expanded international outlook to this year's MIPCOM and is now in advanced talks with several Korean companies concerning strategic alliances. If successful, these alliances would see the Company bringing selected popular Korean properties into the US and Europe markets while opening the doors in Asia for Foothill's library.

In Cannes, Foothill will seek to draw upon the unprecedented success of the Whac-A-Mole arcade game brand with a fresh creative direction on this famous property. Foothill is taking this 35-year old franchise and developing a series of multi-platform entertainment vehicles based on the billion dollar amusement park brand. "We are absolutely delighted to be working on this incredible project," says Foothill President Jo Kavanagh-Payne. Plans currently are focused on an animated children's series for TV and web which will be rolled out at MIPCOM 2008. Further work is being done on a live-action reality/game show for family viewing, a project that is being hotly pursued by a number of international players.

Foothill is also launching a delightful new project from renowned Australian writer/illustrator Kyla May called My Momtourage & Me. This contemporary series chronicles the life of a 'tween age girl, Harper, as she copes with the crazy lifestyle of her very successful pop star Mom while being brought up by several members of her Mom's entourage... or should we say Momtourage! Harper's Mom loves the spotlight and fan adulation, but deep inside an otherwise really shallow life, she honestly does try to bring Harper up the best way she can. Hugely talented Kyla May is a global design powerhouse with TV and licensing properties such as Kyla May Miss. Behaves; Smirk and G2G: Got to Go. The half hour series of G2G: Got to Go is in its first season at Channel Nine in Australia. With My Momtourage & Me Kyla May is bringing her trademark humor and design style to the North American market for the first time. "I am really excited to be working with Jo and Greg at Foothill," stated Kyla May. "Since My Momtourage & Me kind of mirrors the Hollywood lifestyle, teaming with a California based company is a perfect fit." Foothill is seeking co-production and pre-sale partners at MIPCOM on this exciting new series.

In addition to furthering its Asia and Australia initiatives, during MIPCOM Foothill also hopes to continue its acquisition of iconic European animation properties. Representing such well loved and high-quality programming such as Animal Stories, Little Monsters and Microscopic Milton, the Company is compiling an impressive catalogue of classic programming that many parents watched while growing up and now want their children to experience them as well. As part of this expansion, the Company recently completed the corporate acquisition of all rights to the delightful animated series Barney produced by John Coates, the maker of the hugely successful Snowman and The Bear. "We are delighted to be the proud owners of this marvelous property," said Gregory Payne, Foothill Chairman. At MIPCOM, Foothill will be looking to acquire rights to other classic properties as well as adding to its ever growing slate of contemporary programming, such as Boy and the Dinosaur, which was one of the most frequently viewed programs at MIPCOM Junior 2007.

Founded in September 2000 by former DIC Entertainment executive vice president of business and legal affairs, Gregory Payne and Jo Kavanagh-Payne, former Link Television Entertainment, Inc. senior vice president of U.S. operations, Foothill specializes in the co-development and distribution of children's and family entertainment programming. Their Company is based in Santa Barbara, California.
