Foothill & Shout! Factory Seal Deal For Milton The Monster & Batfink
Santa Barbara-based Foothill Ent. Inc.
announces a far-reaching multiplatform
video license with retro pop culture entertainment
company Shout! Factory. The
deal brings TV series produced by Hal
Seeger Prods., Batfink and Milton The
Monster, out on video for the first time in
the U.S. and Canada.
Batfink first aired in U.S. syndication in
September 1967. The 100 five-minute episode
series airs on Cartoon Network's
Boomerang in the U.S., the BBC in the U.K.
and in dozens of countries worldwide.
Batfink, together with his trustworthy assistant,
Karate, a martial arts expert, continually
battles to free the world from arch
villains with supersonic sonar-radar and
wings of steel. His villainous rivals include
Hugo a Go Go, Gluey Louie and the Skinny
Minnie Gang.
Milton The Monster debuted on ABC-TV
in 1965 and was Seeger's first animated
cartoon for network television. Milton
was the ingenious creation of Professor
Weirdo and Count Kook. However, Milton
was accidentally given too much tenderness
and resulted in him being a loveable
and caring monster, which certainly was
not what the Professor and Count had intended.
Milton is joined by other characters,
such as Heebie and Jeebie, Fearless
Fly, Flukey Luke and Stuffy Durma.
"We are thrilled to have the Shout! Factory
as our video partner on these two
classic series. They are truly the gold standard
in marketing retro properties," said
Foothill president, Jo Kavanagh-Payne. "It
is particularly exciting to have these wonderful
properties from the late Hal Seeger
available on DVD for the first time in the
U.S. and Canada. We feel very honored to
be able to represent them."
Garson Foos, president of Shout! Factory
said, "We are delighted to add these
two shows to Shout! Factory's extensive
slate of classic TV shows. Having the opportunity
to pay homage to an animation
legend like Hal Seeger, with collections of
both Batfink and Milton The Monster, is a
real privilege for us."
Sept. 2006. This time around, the four
Turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo
and Donatello and their trusty leader,
cranky rat master Splinter are catapulted
99 years into the future - year 2105 -
where they emerge from the sewers and
no longer have to hide from the public
eye. Not only will the heroic brothers have
a whole new look and arsenal of gadgets,
but they will also square off against new
foes - including their "Dark" alter-egos
- in a world that's totally cutting-edge
and technological.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were
created in 1984 when Peter Laird and
Kevin Eastman published a 40-page,
black-and-white comicbook. From the
late 1980s through the early 1990s, the
original animated adventures of the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles dominated kids'
entertainment.
