Bizzaro’s Zoomer arrives at Foothill

California's Foothill Entertainment and Singapore's Studio Bizzaro have teamed up for the international distribution of tween series Planet Bizzaro, The World According to Zoomer. The series, created by puppeteer Brian Zimmerman and co-produced by Brad Bowyer, is a live-action puppet series that was originally conceived as the concept for a series of public service announcements. It revolves around the online friendship between 15 year-old alien boy Zoomer, who lives on dust-ball planet Bizzaro, and a young Earth girl named Amber, who together tackle the problems Amber faces back on Earth. The series first came to life as a set of comic shorts for Nickelodeon, titled What Planet Are You From?, before evolving into its current form as an episodic television series. "The show provides an inspiring look at friendship, creative exploration and issues that surround the teenage spirit. We're very pleased to have acquired an imaginative show with such loveable characters and original stories," said Jo Kavanagh-Payne, president of Foothill. Kavanagh-Payne, formerly Link Television Entertainment's senior VP of US operations, founded Foothill in September 2000 with former DIC Entertainment executive VP of business and legal affairs, Gregory Payne. The deal between Foothill and Studio Bizzaro covers all territories except excluding Asia and Australasia.
