Canada-U.K. Co-Pro Treaty Signed for Boy and the Dinosaur

SANTA BARBARA/LONDON: The U.K.-based Shooting Star Animation is teaming up with Canada's Echo Media to co-produce the animated series Boy and the Dinosaur, a Foothill Entertainment property. Echo Media is behind such Canadian series asToopy and Binoo as well as the live-action series19-2. With the new co-production agreement in place, the international partners will immediately be launching scripts and storyboarding. Foothill will be handling worldwide distribution, outside of the co-production territories. The company has already secured presales with several broadcasters in key territories. “Ever since we first saw the charming animation and heard the delightful music of this amazing series, we knew we wanted to be part of it,” said Echo Media's president, Luc Châtelain. “The beautiful story and its themes are destined to be an instant classic for kids around the world.” Shooting Star’s managing director, Russell Dever, added, “We are so delighted to find such great partners as Echo Media to create an international home for our unique series.
