FIRST FRUITS OF FOOTHILL/PHEW ALLIANCE

MIPCOM JNR NEWS - After signing a first-look deal with UK creative workshop Phew, US-based Foothill Entertainment is taking two new kids properties to Mipcom: Me & My Shadow and Gododo. Me & My Shadow is a tween live-action/cgi series about a 15-year-old boy who wakes up one day to find his shadow has turned into a bossy opinionated girl. Meanwhile, Gododo is a new 'Python-esque' toon featuring the adventures of the last dodo on earth. The non-dialogue show is aimed at 6-12-year-olds. Foothill will be at Mipcom seeking partners for both projects. The Phew/Foothill alliance, forged at the New York Licensing Show in June, came after the US outfit picked up all rights to Phew's two earlier properties: Food Chain and Wilder West Tales. Foothill, set up by ex DIC Entertainment evp Gregory Payne and former Link Entertainment svp Jo Kavanagh-Payne, is also in Cannes pushing the live-action comedy feature Dog Dude, and arts magazine On Stage.
