FOOTHILL BRINGS A RAFT OF NEW PROGRAMMING TO 2009 MIPCOM AND MIPCOM JUNIOR

(Cannes— 2009 October) With deals to announce and newly acquired programming to showcase, Foothill Entertainment, Inc. charges into its tenth MIPCOM and MIPCOM Junior markets. This Santa Barbara based company has added to its catalogue a spectacular CGI series from UK’s SphDigital; a Daytime Emmy Award winning series that’s full of action; an irreverent boys’ sci-fi adventure project from publishing leader HarperCollins Children’s Books and two new reality/game show formats that push genre boundaries. Foothill is primed for one of their best markets ever. Brand new to the market is Raz & Benny, the ultimate buddy comedy with a healthy dose of dazzling hijinks and death-defying stunts. Created by Simon Hodgkiss of SphDigital in the UK and animated in the most sophisticated CGI available, Raz & Benny is the tale of two little mice whose ambitions are bigger than their brains, but whose good luck is as endless as their friendship. Whether posing as international spies, high-speed racecar drivers, scuba-diving submarine rescuers or expert explorers in the deepest jungle, inseparable Raz and Benny consistently come out on top, ready for their next adventure! Foothill will be in Cannes looking for co-production and pre-sale opportunities for this dialogue-free celebration of physical fun, choreographed chaos and visual delight! A pilot will premiere at MIPCOM Junior. New to Foothill’s completed slate is the latest series of Biker Mice from Mars, a 2009 Daytime Emmy winner developed by the creative team responsible for the Spiderman and X-Men franchises. "In this wild and wooly universe, there's only three things you can count on... your brains... your bros... and your bikes!" Three of the baddest rodents ever to ride, the Biker Mice from Mars are back on Earth and ready to rumble! With the use of their special powers and incredible fully equipped motorcycles, the Biker Mice are here to save the day. This series is a global ratings success on all the major networks including GMTV, UK, and CW, USA. Foothill is also seeking partners for Gunk Aliens, the rib-tickling sci-fi kid’s property inspired by the best-selling book series written by Jonny Moon and distributed by publishing industry leader HarperCollins Children’s books. They came from space to get up our noses. They don't want our oil or our water. They don't want our Brussels sprouts, either (actually, neither do we!). They just want our snot! Recruited by a talking trash can, young Jack never thought he would be leading a battle against disgusting extraterrestrials bent on draining the worlds noses - but hey, it beats a poke in the eye! Join Jack and his pals Oscar, Ruby and his robotic dog, Snivel, if you value your snot and are ready to join the fight! Also new in development, The Driver’s Seat! and His Way, Her Way!are two new live-action reality/game show series from Christopher Keenan of Creating4Kids. “We are so energized to be working on these incredible new projects,” says Jo Kavanagh-Payne, President of Foothill. “To be involved with these innovative formats, and with the talented Christopher Keenan, is a real joy.” The Driver’s Seat! is a competitive reality series which puts contestants from different walks of life through the paces of an intensive, “crash” course in professional auto-racing while giving them the opportunity to make their dreams come true AND drive home in the car of their dreams. His Way, Her Way! is a half-hour hybrid of two of television's most popular genres (the "reality show" and the "game show") and explores the many ways in which men and women differ. With broad, gender-neutral appeal, this show presents couples with all manners of everyday hassles, frequent frustrations and day-to-day problems and challenges (with, of course, some over-the-top situations!) and requires them to come up with innovative remedies, surprising solutions and a cavalcade of quick fixes as they compete for prizes. Foothill also has exciting news about its highly anticipated series created by acclaimed author/illustrator, Kyla May (G2G; Miss. Behaves), My Momtourage and Me. The Company will be announcing a strategic co-development deal with a major global partner at MIPCOM 2009. The series is a half hour, live-action comedy focusing on the relationship between fourteen year old Coco and her bigger-than-life pop star mom, Eva "the Diva" Divine. Living amidst the glitzy, glamorous "world of entertainment", Coco has the life that most teens dream about but, while this may seem like a dream come true to many, what Coco truly wants is to be "real" in her mother's land of "make believe". The Company has more thrilling news to announce as it is in final negotiations to set-up Me & My Shadow, created by Ron Elliott, Paul Barron, Ian Ellery and Guy Hallifax, as an Ireland/Australia/Singapore co-production. When 16-year old Peter wakes up to find that overnight his "shadow" has come alive as Kim, a teenage girl with bad hair, Attitude and an Agenda, this is just the start of a really bad day! Peter's formerly perfect life is turned upside down when he realizes that Kim is on a Mission to change him. On its innovative series Gododo, Foothill brings to Cannes a newly inked strategic alliance co-production agreement between Neptuno of Spain and Title Entertainment of Canada. Foothill and its partners are seeking pre-sales for this series created by Ian Ellery and Guy Hallifax of UK/Canadian team, Phew!!. Despite reports to the contrary, there is one dodo still out there – somewhere. Yes, Gododo is far from extinct. He is alive and well, but thoroughly lost. Hardly helped by an inept Narrator, Gododo and his companion Ducky follow the arrows. The arrows must lead somewhere and mean something, mustn’t they? Of course they do! They lead to the next hilarious and surreal adventure! The world's #1 arcade game, Whac-A-Mole, has been recently acquired by Mattel, Inc. to sit along side its other iconic brands such as Hot Wheels andBarbie. Foothill, along with Christopher Keenan of Creating4Kids and in conjunction with Mattel, are targeting global development and production partners who are interested in taking this unique physical and comedic game play concept into a truly innovative TV and web program. It may be a cliché, but these moles will be groundbreaking! Further solidifying its status as a provider of high-quality children's and family programming, Foothill is also proud to announce that it has renewed its distribution agreement with one of Europe's leading animation studios, Collingwood O'Hare Productions. The deal includes the delightful seriesAnimal Stories, Eddy & the Bear and Rarg, which are some of the most beloved properties in animation. "Our shows could not be in better hands," says writer/director Tony Collingwood. "Thanks to Foothill a new generation of children are enjoying our stories." Foothill Chairman, Gregory Payne, had this to say about this year’s MIPCOM market, “We have so many good projects to show people this year that we are really looking forward to being in Cannes and to introduce these new properties to our clients.” Founded in September 2000 by former DIC Entertainment Executive Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs, Gregory Payne, and Jo Kavanagh-Payne, former Link Television Entertainment, Inc. Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations, Foothill specializes in the co-development and distribution of children’s and family entertainment programming. Their company is based in Santa Barbara, California.
