Foothill Inks Deal for New Environmental-Themed Animated Series

SANTA BARBARA/TORONTO/LONDON, April 16: Santa Barbara-based Foothill Entertainment has reached a co-development deal with Toronto's Kaleidoscope Entertainment and the U.K.'s Phew!! Ltd. for the environmental-themed CGI animated series Snapper. Created by Phew founders Guy Hallifax, Ian Ellery and Mick Wells, Snapper will be animated by Malaysia's Vision Animation. The series is set in the Amazon-like Maricombo River and follows the exploits of a mischievous little alligator named Snapper as he explores the unique environment that makes up his jungle community. The show will also incorporate environmental-conscious themes such as alternative fuels and sustainable living. Snapper was also designed from the outset with Internet and mobile applications in mind. "Snapper has been a favorite project of ours," said Foothill President Jo Kavanagh-Payne. "We have been developing it slowly and deliberately with the creators at Phew. This is why it is particularly rewarding to bring a partner of Kaleidoscope's caliber into the mix to push it forward."
