Foothill Adapting GUNK Aliens

California-based content developer and distributor Foothill Entertainment is seeking coproduction partners for a TV adaptation of UK literary property Gunk Aliens. Inspired by the HarperCollins book series, the Gunk Aliens series aims to pick up where the books left off and will target kids aged between six and nine. Foothill is developing the series in conjunction with Christopher Keenan of Creating4Kids. The books, penned by Jonny Moon, combine "the boy appeal of aliens with the humour of snotty yuckiness", according to book reviews. Gregory Payne, Foothill's chairman, told C21 that the company is also looking at taking its new animated series Raz & Benny to 3D. "We're looking at fewer properties these days and concentrating on the more commercial ones. This has meant that a lot of good and innovative properties are getting passed over. But there will always be a place for new and unique projects, so we are still open to review those," he said. Jules Grant 6 Apr 2010 © C21 Media 2010
